Things that I would say that im "currently working on" be that true or just me chewing cud |
"So like wha'ts ur deal dude???" in my free time i watch a lot of cartoons, whether that be anime or western stuff. i get really hyperfixated on a lot of the production side of western cartoons specifically. i love spending hours doing wikipedia deep dives on production companies or storyboard artists to figure out what else they've made or their artistic influences. i'm also pretty passionate about alternative comics, particularly a lot of artists that came out of the 80's and 90's art scene like julie doucet and art spiegleman, as well as a lot of more recent stuff. My favorite comic artist at the moment is probably josh bayer although it kind of changes a lot. When i'm not engaging in this side of my autistm i'm typically either doing traditional ink and paper drawing, exploring industrial zones of the state i inhabit, playing music or at a local punk show with friends. I fucking love the local DIY scene and I think it's insanely impressive that it's still alive and kicking. My favorite local act that I've seen is probably 25 Shorty Bullwark. They're a really skilled rock act from around boston, all of the instrumentals are crazy good. I also dabble in writing poetry, most of it is melodramatic abstract crap and stream of consciousness. I wouldn't say it's good by any means but i'm probably going to be posting that shit on my blog lol. Over the course of the past year I've also developed a really heavy fixation on noise music and abstract art. I've liked that kind of stuff for a while but it's only since like february or so have i actually been engaging with it as an actual art form and medium of expression. I currently have my own experimental noise act with my good friend rosemary/synthisis where i play my vague equivalent to tabletop guitar and she destroys records with a knife while theyr'e spinning on a crosley cruiser.
